This lovely slate mine / quarry was the last visit on a slate fest mission to Wales. This stunning mine is probably one of the best and most intact mines I have ever had the pleaseure in experiencing!
Top of the mine, the sheer scale of this place was incredible, most of the boulders below were the size of cars!
To get to the lower levels, this rather slippery and very long ladder was the only way down, well apart from head first.
The first gallery was stunning, I thought it couldn’t get much better!
Just a wee crane inside the mine, one of four hidden away!
Lovely and blue
Maybe about 200ft to the top!
Couple tracks and carts were left lying around to play with.
Another shot from the Gallery.
Loader, normally a very rare find in a mine, not in this place!
Very old fashioned crane!
The sheer scale of this place is hard to describe and even harder to light up!
Thanks for looking!
