The Cisterian Abbey or Chaise Abbey to some, is a 18th century former Cisterian Abbey in rural England. The rather nice Serenity Hospital was meant to be my last explore of 2013 but this Abbey cropped up from a friend so off I set early in the morning after crashing at Project Mayhems pad to arrive at the grounds of this this estate. A long convoluted route I chose that should hopefully keep me away from the gamekeepers and locals but, it didn’t quite work out as I had plannedas the long winding back road was filled with pheasants and they make a lot of noise!
Reaching the building, entry wasn’t exactly difficult, and soon I was inside all alone to get the pics in peace finding the infamous chaise lounges straight away.
The Grand hallway and stairs.
This room was full of stuff, very difficult to get an actual shot showing it in full grandeur.
Lots of renovations work are ongoing.
Time to head upstairs and see what lies further inside.
Had a choice of stairwells, not just 1 or 2, but 3!
Quite a few lovely bathrooms too choose from!
Into the basement for a couple more before the long walk back to the car.
Always time for a cracking external on a lovely winters day.
Thanks for looking!
